Involvement can mean many different things and within the context of Involving Essex it means people who have had experience of services can play a vital role in improving services for the future. This can be in carrying out questionnaires, interviewing present clients of services, being part of a board, focus group, reference group or being included in a panel during a commissioning process. It means that the people making the decisions get to hear a different perspective on things and may discover things that they had not thought of before.
Involvement opportunities are growing, not just in Involving Essex, but in all aspects of services. Service user involvement is everywhere and it is a great time to become involved and make use of any experience you have had.
